Long before we began to travel the world seeking out new destinations and experiences for our guests, the Kempinski family had established itself in the wine trade. In 1872 it extended its company to Berlin, where Berthold Kempinski opened a wine-merchant’s business under the family name “M. Kempinski & Co”.

This small but highly frequented wine store and restaurant was the starting point of a remarkable international company with significant shipments in wines, sparkling wines, delicatessen and spirits across the world, with branches established in Amsterdam and New York.

At Kempinski Trading, we celebrate our roots and where it all started for Berthold-Kempinski when he first entered the world of trade and hospitality. After more than 150 years we continue to be a global trading company, with a passion for hospitality, offering procurement services to hotel owners, investors and operators.
